The highly acclaimed indie game Firewatch is currently on sale on Steam for just $2 as part of a midweek deal. Additionally, a discounted bundle featuring the game's soundtrack is available for a great price. Firewatch, a first-person adventure game released in February 2016, garnered widespread praise for its immersive gameplay, outstanding sound design, and compelling dialogue. Developed by the Washington-based studio Campo Santo using the Unity engine, the game achieved significant success, selling 2.5 million copies by 2018 and earning a reputation as a beloved indie gem.

For those interested in experiencing Firewatch, the PC version is now available for a mere $1.99, thanks to a 90% discount from its usual $19.99 price tag. This is the lowest price the game has ever been on the platform, according to data from the SteamDB analytics website. Furthermore, a bundle containing Firewatch and its original soundtrack has received a 71% discount, bringing the cost down from $25.98 to $7.58. Alternatively, Firewatch was added to Xbox Game Pass in August 2023, allowing members to enjoy the title at no additional cost. Despite offering approximately four hours of gameplay, Firewatch is widely regarded as a masterpiece in narrative storytelling. It is often praised as one of the best walking simulators, alongside other notable indie titles such as Journey, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Gone Home. Campo Santo's debut title received numerous award nominations, winning Best Indie Game at the Golden Joystick Awards in 2016. While it did not secure any trophies at The Game Awards 2016, Firewatch was recognized as the best debut title at both the 2016 Game Developers Choice Awards and the British Academy Games Awards. Valve acquired Campo Santo in 2018, and despite the team's announcement of their next project, In the Valley of the Gods, development was put on hold. Campo Santo co-founder Jake Rodkin attributed this to team members working on other Valve projects such as Half-Life: Alyx and Dota Underlords, although In the Valley of the Gods was never officially scrapped.
