A notable feature is the introduction of a new local co-op mode, allowing one player to control Mario and the other to control Toad. The remake of Mario vs. Donkey Kong boasts an increased level count, featuring 130 levels compared to the original's 90 levels and 12 expert stages. The classic six world themes are present, with two new world themes introduced in the remake: Slippery Summit, an icy cave, and Merry Mini-Land, a circus fairground. Each world comes with its own unique elements, such as slippery ground, icicle spikes, and directional flowers. Unlockable expert levels, designed to challenge players' skills, add an extra layer of difficulty, with 16 expert levels available in the remake.
