Fortnite has shared plans to add new reporting options for user-created maps in its Creative mode following criticism over racist content. Over 100 maps with offensive content were recently removed, prompting the game's moderation team to take action. The official Creative mode Twitter account, FNCreate, acknowledged the issue and stated that additional in-game reporting options are on the way to address the problem more effectively. The statement explained that some problematic maps might slip through the initial review phase due to moderators assuming good intentions from creators. The upcoming reporting options aim to assist the moderation team in swiftly identifying and addressing violations. FNCreate assured players that reported maps undergo re-evaluation, and the moderation team continuously updates training materials to prevent such issues. Despite recent challenges, Fortnite's Creative mode remains popular, offering players a variety of user-created maps to enjoy with friends. Some maps are known for their impressive detail and creativity, including retro-style shooters, puzzle-solving games, Call of Duty-inspired modes, and more. Fortnite Creative 2.0, released in March 2023 for PC users, provides powerful tools utilizing Unreal Engine 5, allowing for even more intricate and innovative map creations. The hope is that the moderation improvements will enable the community to focus on the enjoyable and impressive aspects of Creative mode.
